Aura Flushable has restored Vicki’s confidence and given her the freedom to do the things she loves.
Freedom to travel – Vicki’s Story

Vicki discovered Aura Flushable through an advert in the Colostomy UK’s Tidings magazine, and since then, her life has transformed. As a former flight attendant married to a former pilot, travel has always been a central part of her life. After adjusting to life with a colostomy, which she initially found challenging, Aura Flushable has restored her confidence and freedom to do the things she loves. Now, Vicki hasn’t looked back, embracing life with renewed enthusiasm and independence.
“For people like me who were diagnosed with cancer, having a colostomy is literally life-saving. So if you can possibly have a positive attitude and remember that it’s saved your life and that you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t have a colostomy, then that is going to be so helpful.”
For Vicki, freedom means the ability to travel, explore the world, and visit friends without hesitation. She highlights how the flushable pouches have empowered her to travel abroad extensively, ensuring she can navigate new countries without worry. Last year, Vicki visited Australia, a destination she’d never been to before. Knowing she had her flushable pouches gave her peace of mind, allowing her to enjoy the journey and her time there without worrying. “It was great to have the freedom,” she says, explaining how the product made it easy to adapt to unfamiliar surroundings.
Vicki wishes that more people knew about Aura Flushable. She recalls speaking with her hairdresser about the product, discovering that the woman’s father, who has a colostomy, had never heard of flushable pouches. Vicki was quick to share how much they had changed her life and hopes more people discover their benefits.
Vicki: Freedom, for me, is being able to travel, to see lots more of the world, to go abroad an awful lot more if I want to, and to visit friends, socialise when I want to, and do all the things, really,,that I could do before I had a colostomy.
Vicki: The flushable bags, I just wish more people knew about them. In fact, just yesterday I was speaking to my hairdressers, and the young lady doing my hair said her father had got a colostomy. And I said, “Has he heard of the flushable stoma bags?” And she said, “Oh, no.” So, really it’s… a lot of people I don’t think have heard of them. When you do get to use them and know about them, it can make such a difference to your life.
Vicki: I travel an awful lot, I socialise an awful lot, and it’s wonderful that I can feel that if I do have any problems, that these flushable bags are great to use everywhere. I’ve used flushables in so many different countries. I went to Australia last year. It was great to have the freedom and know when I got off the aircraft, going to a completely different country that I’d never been before, that it was… I knew that I wouldn’t have any problems whatsoever with the flushables
Vicki: For me, flushables are brilliant. They enable me to do all I want to do these days, traveling, socialising. Absolutely brilliant.
“When I travel, which I do an awful lot, the flushables are brilliant. I’ve been to Australia, Doha, all kinds of places, and used them in lots of different toilets including beach side shacks! Also, you’ll appreciate that when you’re eating different foods in different countries, the food doesn’t always agree with you. You can get tummy problems and you might find that there isn’t a bin, but with the flushable, you are fine changing it in any restaurant anywhere!”
For Vicki, Aura Flushable has made traveling, socialising, and enjoying life not just possible but effortless. She describes the pouches as “absolutely brilliant,” praising their convenience and reliability. Thanks to Aura Flushable, Vicki continues to explore the world with confidence, embracing each new experience with the freedom she values.
