Earlier in the year we set out to raise £5,000 for our Corporate Charity Partner, Macmillan Cancer Support. Our Corporate and Social Responsibility Team have been working hard to make that happen by organising monthly dress down days and other fundraisers.
We recently held our first all-day fundraiser with an indoor cycling event. Colleagues took turns throughout the day to help cycle the distance from London to Paris: 240 miles! Our friends at Anytime Fitness Loudwater were kind enough to lend us two static bikes for the day, and by mid-afternoon we were doing so well, we were able to ‘turn-around’ and come home.
Throughout the day we enjoyed home baked delights from colleagues, which helped to keep us going, and Macmillan came along to join in the fun and help us eat cake!
Maddy Mills is SecuriCare’s Brand Marketing Executive, she told us, “All CliniMed and SecuriCare CSR events are great fun, the London to Paris bike ride was no exception. The CSR team did a great job: eating cake and raising money for Macmillan, while watching your colleagues cycle – what more could you want! It was all great fun until my turn to get on the bike came along, safe to say I shouldn’t have eaten that second bit of cake right before cycling! Thank you for another wonderful event.”
Over 40 participants, 800 kms, and 12 and a half hours the total amount raised was £1,278 surpassing our target of £1000 for the day! Many thanks to all those who helped organise, took part or donated. We are now at a total of £3,700 for the year so far and are confident we’ll meet our £5,000 goal for 2019.
