Supporting Every Nurse’s Journey at ASCNUK25

CliniMed and SecuriCare proudly attended this year’s Association of Stoma Care Nurses UK Conference (ASCNUK25) in Wales. With nearly 400 nurses in attendance and a packed programme of presentations, posters, and educational sessions, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the stoma care community and share the work we’re doing to support both healthcare professionals and people living with a stoma.
Our stand was designed around one clear message: Supporting Every Nurse’s Journey.
Nurses were able to speak with our team, request samples, and learn more about how we support clinical teams in delivering the best possible care.
Attendees were invited to explore:
The trusted SecuriCare Home Delivery Service
The range of CliniMed and Welland Medical stoma care products, including Aura Plus and the enhanced new-look stoma accessories range
A wide selection of educational resources for nurses and patients
One of the key sessions at ASCNUK25 focused on Exercise and Physical Activity After Stoma Surgery, led by the EXPASS project team. Their recommendations highlighted:
This aligned perfectly with our Breathing and Movements programme, which was referenced during the session and was well received by nurses throughout the event.
We were proud to support a presentation by Stephanie Loader and Emma Hartshorne – Finding Strength After Stoma Surgery.
They shared practical advice on implementing exercise programmes in clinical settings, demonstrating how Breathing and Movements can improve patient outcomes through multidisciplinary collaboration.
In addition to physical recovery, we showcased our commitment to emotional wellbeing.
CliniMed and SecuriCare hosted an educational evening with Dr Zainab Noor, Clinical Psychologist, which focuses on stoma recovery from a psychological lens.
During ASCNUK25, we launched our new Emotional Wellbeing Guide which explores the psychological journey after stoma surgery and shares practical tools to help individuals cope, adjust, and rebuild confidence.
We’re delighted to announce that Kevin Hayles was elected Vice Chair of ASCN UK during the conference. This well-deserved appointment recognises Kevin’s dedication to advancing stoma care and supporting specialist nurses across the UK.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited our stand, attended our sessions, and shared their experiences. We’re proud to play a part in supporting both nurses and patients every step of the way.
