Protecting peristomal skin is a complicated process that is often taken for granted until damage occurs. LBF Barrier Cream moisturises the skin whilst providing a protective barrier against the harmful effects of bodily fluids such as urine, faeces, digestive enzymes and excessive perspiration, which can cause skin to become red, sore and sometimes damaged. It is also ideal for sensitive skin as it helps to prevent the sticky adhesive on stoma pouches from causing skin irritation or trauma during removal.
The balanced consistency of LBF Barrier Cream means that it is not too thick or thin, whilst the high concentration allows a small amount to go further - being easy to apply and spread effortlessly. Once absorbed into the skin, a non-greasy breathable layer is left behind.

- Remove any urine or faecal matter, cleanse and dry the skin.
- Apply LBF Barrier Cream sparingly around the intended area as required.
- Repeat application as required.

I have used LBF barrier cream for as long as I can remember and find it to be very good at both protecting my skin and helping skin to recover if the skin has broken down for any reason. I have used the wipes for a few years now when travelling etc as they are compact and provide just as good protection as the cream.

This is an excellent product, used it from the start at every bag change really helps to keep my skin healthy even though I have been quite ill and had lots of output from my colostomy. I have to keep my output soft (sorry maybe too much information) and this still keeps my skin healthy so all in all wouldn't be without it and need to make sure I have a spare.

I have used the above product a lot and I must say I highly recommend it along with the barrier wipes also, they protect my skin against leaks so my skin doesn't get as sore as it use to. I wouldn't be without this it is a must have for me!

Clean the area of skin where the cream is to be applied by removing any faeces or urine. After cleaning, dry the skin and apply LBF Barrier Cream to the area as required.
