Colostomate since 2007, following surgery for a persistent rectovaginal fistula. Member of the Patient Liaison Group, Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACGBPI), Patient Representative on the Specialist Colorectal Clinical Reference Group and a former Trustee of Colostomy UK.
Sarah is passionate about patients having a voice to influence future research in a positive way, ensuring the needs of patients - current and future - are both met and improved upon. Sarah also works full time at the University of Oxford as a Research Scientist, working on therapies to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
