How to Use the Appeel Sterile Range – A Step‑by‑Step Guide
The Appeel Sterile range provides a safe, gentle and effective way to remove adhesive medical devices and dressings without causing medical adhesive related skin injuries (MARSIs). As the only sterile medical adhesive remover available in the UK, its alcohol‑free, fast‑drying silicone formula is suitable for both intact and injured skin, including fragile skin in children, older adults and patients with conditions such as epidermolysis bullosa.

Appeel Sterile Liquid Sachet. To prevent the fluid from leaking keep the sachet upright.
To open the sachet, pinch the pinch point below the tear off strip and then tear along the perforations on each side, then, holding the tear off strip. Pull upwards and sharply to one side to remove the tear off strip from the delivery applicator.
To maintain sterility do not touch the applicator.
The orange pinch point controls the flow of liquid, if you do not pinch this area, the fluid will flow quickly from the sachet.
Pinch the pinch point, and tip the sachet towards the dressing. Gently release the pressure on the pinch point to control the flow of liquid. Allow the liquid to drip over a permeable dressing, as shown here or under an impermeable dressing. Gently remove the dressing from the skin.

Appeel Sterile Foam Applicator. To open the applicator sachet tear along from either notch across the top. Remove the foam applicator from the sachet, gently wipe the foam applicator under the edges of an impermeable dressing, as seen here, or over a permeable dressing to release it from the skin.
Use additional applicators if required, for larger adhesive dressings or appliances.

Appeel Sterile Spray. Spray 10 to 15 cm from the skin, this can be applied at any angle even upside down if required.
Spray under one edge of an impermeable dressing, as shown here, and repeat for complete removal. For permeable dressings spray onto the adhesive area.
Appeel Sterile Spray is for single patient multiple use.
