The removal of stoma bags and other adhesive appliances is not only associated with increased nursing time due to the pain, anxiety and difficulty it can cause, but repeated application and removal can also cause damage and result in skin stripping. Appeel Sterile Medical Adhesive Remover is designed to remove medical adhesive devices without causing pain or skin trauma, enabling quick and easy removal from intact and injured skin. It is ideal for those with fragile skin such as babies and the elderly, or for blistering conditions like epidermolysis bullosa.
Evidence shows that the inert fluid in Appeel Sterile Medical Adhesive Remover is not metabolised by the skin, ensuring that it is safe to use on injured skin and will not impact wound healing¹.

As with all new products, Appeel Sterile should be tested on a small area of skin before use. We suggest a small amount of Appeel Sterile is applied inside the forearm.
Appeel Sterile Liquid Sachet
- To prevent the fluid from leaking keep the sachet upright. To open the sachet, pinch the pinch point below the tear along the perforations on each side
- While holding the tear off strip, pull sharply to one side and slightly upwards to reveal the delivery applicator. To maintain sterility, do not touch the applicator
- Continue to pinch the sachet at the pinch point, then tip the sachet towards the adhesive appliance and gently release the pressure from the pinch point to control the flow of liquid
- Allow the liquid to drip over a permeable adhesive appliance, or under a non-permeable adhesive appliance. Gently ease the adhesive appliance from the skin. Use additional sachets if required for larger appliances
Appeel Sterile Foam Applicator
- Skin should be clean and dry prior to application
- To open the sachet, tear along either notch across the top
- Wear sterile gloves to maintain sterility when using this product
- Remove the foam applicator from the sachet and gently wipe the applicator over a permeable adhesive appliance or under the edges of an impermeable adhesive appliance to release it from the skin.
- Appeel Sterile Medical Adhesive Remover dried quickly, leaving no residue. Once dried, it will not affect any further adhesion.
- Use additional sachets if required for larger adhesive appliances.
Appeel Sterile Wipes
- Skin should be clean and dry prior to application
- To open the sachet, tear along notch across the top
- Wear sterile gloves to maintain sterility when using this product
- Remove wipe from Sachet. Lift a corner of the adhesive appliance and gently wipe underneath to release the adhesive from the skin.
- Appeel Sterile Medical Adhesive Remover dries quickly, leaving no residue. Once dried, it will not affect any further adhesion
- Use additional sachets if required for larger areas
Appeel Sterile Spray
- Skin should be clean and dry prior to application
- Spray 10 – 15 cm from the skin
- Spray onto a permeable adhesive appliance to release.
- If impermeable, spray under one edge and repeat for complete removal
- For single patient use. Can be used at any angle

Appeel Sterile
I recently used the Appeel Sterile wipe on my 83 year old mother-in-law who’d had to undergo several procedures recently in connection with a medical diagnosis. As an 83 year old her skin is now quite thin and she’s a very slight, small, woman, so her skin has been quite bruised around needle insertion points on the top of her hand and inside of her upper arm, where the elbow bends. She was worried about removal of the small dressing placed and had asked us just to “remove it as quick as you can”. I’d been provide a couple of the Appeel sterile wipes. I’d been told to stroke them gently around the dressing, which I did, and within a very short time the edges of the dressing started to lift so I then continued that stroking movement under the dressing and close to where it was adhering to her skin. Within just a few moments, we managed to remove the dressing with no discomfort to Mum. I’d definitely use these again and would recommend that every elderly patient (and/or their carer) be provided with them to make the dressing removal as ours was. 83 year old shouldn’t have to feel any discomfort when their dressing is removed

How does Appeel Sterile work?
