LBF Sterile Barrier Film uses healthcare grade silicones to protect both intact and injured skin from the harmful effects of bodily fluids such as wound exudate, as well as from friction, shear and adhesive trauma.
Sterile periwound skin protection
Protecting the skin is a complicated process that is often taken for granted until damage occurs. LBF Sterile Barrier Film provides a protective barrier against the harmful effects of bodily fluids such as wound exudate and excessive perspiration, which can cause maceration and irritation. It also helps to protect against pressure, friction and shear which can lead to the formation of pressure ulcers, as well as adhesive trauma caused by the repeated removal of dressings, tapes and other medical adhesive devices.
LBF Sterile Barrier Film dries rapidly on the skin, forming a breathable transparent film which helps to preserve skin integrity. The fluid remains sterile for each application, helping to reduce the risk of microorganisms being introduced to the wound site during the application process and making it suitable for use on both intact and injured skin.

LBF Sterile Barrier Film Spray
- Skin should be clean and dry prior to application.
- Hold the spray nozzle 10-15cm (4-6 inches) from the skin.
- Apply a smooth, uniform coating of film over the intended area, whilst moving the spray in a sweeping motion.
- LBF Barrier Film dries quickly. Once dried, it will not affect any further adhesion of appliances.
LBF Sterile Barrier Film Foam Applicators
- Skin should be clean and dry prior to application.
- To open the sachet, tear along the notch across the top.
- Remove the foam applicator from the sachet and gently wipe over the intended area.
- LBF Barrier Film dries quickly. Once dried, it will not affect any further adhesion of appliances.
LBF Sterile Barrier Film Wipes
- Skin should be clean and dry prior to application.
- To open the sachet, tear along the notch across the top.
- Remove the wipe from the sachet and gently wipe over the intended area.
- LBF Barrier Film dries quickly. Once dried, it will not affect any further adhesion of appliances.
LBF Barrier Spray
I used this on my 2 year old sons bottom (nappy rash) as it was very sore and in the morning his bottom was back to normal. After spending aprox. 60+ on different products, LBF barrier spray worked amazingly. I used it on myself after getting skin burn (chard - under my arm), the spray was so fine and sprayed in the correct area without the feeling of heavy cream based ointment. Very happy with the product.

Does the propellant in LBF Sterile Barrier Film Spray ever come into contact with the LBF fluid?
No. LBF Sterile Barrier Film Spray uses compressed nitrogen as the propellant, which is completely separated from the product. LBF Sterile fluid is filled into the bag and the propellant is filled into the area between the bag and the can.
