FAQs
What is Appeel Sterile Sachet?
Appeel Sterile Sachet is a sterile, silicone based medical adhesive remover presented in single use sachet. Its accurate delivery system and no sting formula reduce the anxiety and difficulty associated with dressing changes. Appeel Sterile liquid dries quickly, leaving skin clean and fresh without affecting future dressing adhesion.
How does Appeel Sterile Sachet work?
When the silicone comes into contact with the dressing it temporarily changes the surface energy of the skin, disrupting the adhesive properties between skin and dressing/device. This facilitates gentle removal of the dressing.
“The sterile presentation of Appeel Sterile sachet means that it can be used on broken skin, eliminating any risk of infection to the patient.”
(Cooper, 2010) Appeel Sterile adhesive dressing remover: reduces the pain of a dressing change. Wounds UK 6(2).
Why use Appeel Sterile Sachet?
Appeel Sterile is ideal for use within a hospital setting where many infection control teams have adopted a single use policy for hospital consumables.
“Having Appeel [Sterile] available in single use sachets is an excellent addition to the armoury in the prevention of cross contamination in healthcare. Appeel [Sterile] single use sachets can be used with complete confidence that the product is sterile when opened.”
(Lead IV Practitioner, Guys & St Thomas’ Hospital, London).
Is Appeel Sterile Sachet cost effective?
The single use formulation meets infection control policy requirements, minimises product waste and reduces overall wound care costs. Preventing skin damage and reducing pain and infection leads to better quality of life for patients and long term cost savings. The airtight packaging ensures sterility throughout the product’s three year shelf life.
