Launch of new Appeel Sterile – September 2010

CliniMed is proud to announce the launch of New Appeel Sterile^®.

Appeel Sterile is a sterile silicone based medical adhesive remover presented in a single sachet. It helps remove adhesive from any part of the body painlessly and can be used on broken or fragile skin without impairing the wound healing process.

CliniMed have undertaken in excess of 150 patient evaluations and the results have been truly amazing. Appeel Sterile is easy to use and is now available through NHS Supply Chain.

IMPACT 9

Further to previous correspondence below regarding the notice of product discontinuation, we would like to let our customers know that Impact 9 will no longer be available from August 1st 2010. This is the second phase of the product discontinuation. Further information about the final phase will be updated on our site in due course.

NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH 1st JULY 2010 

Introducing the new Hydroframe mini. The mini is 43% smaller than original size with the same security only smaller. In packs of 30 these handy hydrocolloid strips can be used for smaller areas where extra adhesion is required. HydroFrame mini is ideal for paediatrics or fistula pouches. Priced at £9.49 and available on prescription as of 1st July 2010.

CLINIMED SUPPORTS BEATING BOWEL CANCER 

CliniMed raised £3033 for Beating Bowel Cancer through a variety of fundraising activities throughout 2009. You can read about the activities by visiting the Beating Bowel Cancer website here.

In 2010, our nominated charity is Breakaway, the UK's only charity that runs weekend breaks for people aged 4-18 with bowel or bladder diversions. We are proud to support their great work.

NOTICE OF PRODUCT DISCONTINUATION

Dear customer,

As you may know, Impact pouches were the first flushable and biodegradable appliances on the market. When they were launched in 1997, they revolutionised pouch disposal and allowed a freedom that no other product at the time could.

Over the past 12 years, Welland has continued to develop products which improve the quality of life of those who use them. Unfortunately, due to one of the original materials used in the manufacture of our Impact pouch being discontinued by one supplier, we have had to make the difficult decision to stop making our Impact range. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you but believe our FreeStyle Vie Flushable range will ensure you can continue benefiting from a flushable pouch.  

This will take place gradually, starting at the beginning of April 2010, when the mini pouch will be discontinued. The maxi pouch will be the next to be phased out, followed by the standard size. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The good news is we have developed a new generation of pouches which combine the convenience of toilet disposal with improved product features and materials.

FreeStyle Vie Flushable works in the same way as Impact, but the outer pouch cover is much easier to peel away from the inner pouch. The outer pouch is softer, too, and it dries instantly when you pat it lightly with a towel so it’s much better for bathing. It is one of the most comfortable and secure pouches yet. One customer who trialled the new pouch said:

‘The pouch was absolutely great, I thought the other disposable pouch was good but these new ones are great. I cannot praise them enough.’
